Workshops
Along with our
own journey in exploring this art form, one of our dreams of life is to
teach this art form to as many people as we can.
Since last five years we have taken workshops throughout the country in
different schools and colleges. Our experiences with children say that
such workshops not only increase their concentration and thinking
ability, it also introduces them to a new art form which most of them
have not even seen.
It makes them aware about the existence of different form of folk art,
their simplicity, techniques, mediums, meaning, significance and
understanding in the context of tradition, it’s linkages with morality
and society.
In today’s society, value oriented education is very necessary for
children and also college students. As, unfortunately they are not being
exposed to true meaning of our culture and tradition.
A small trigger at this stage in their mind can help in shaping better
India.
Jane Alexander has very rightly put it :
“When we teach a child to draw, we teach him, how to see. When we teach
a child to play a musical instrument, we teach her how to listen when we
teach him how to move through life with grace. When we nurture
imagination, we create a better world, one child at a time”.
